Biography
John Prendergast is a Senior Adviser at the International Crisis Group. He has worked on crisis issues in Africa for the past two decades and visited Darfur twice last summer. Mr. Prendergast previously served the Clinton administration as director of African affairs for the National Security Council (1996-1999) and as special adviser to the State Department (1999-2001). He has also worked with various non-governmental organizations and think tanks in Africa, and has authored and co-authored seven books on Africa, including Frontline Diplomacy: Humanitarian Aid and Conflict in Africa. He is currently coauthoring a book with actor Don Cheadle.
